  1. Muon System data taking G. Passaleva INFN - Florence

  2. Outline • Status of hardware • Status of ECS • Thresholds, Noise LHCb week

  3. Status of hardware • Hardware rather stable from the point of view of dead/noisy channels Cosmic runs 11-18 Feb 2010  800k tracks 2 chambers not connected to the gas supply! Some inefficiency visible in february LHCb week

  4. Status of hardware • Hardware rather stable from the point of view of dead/noisy channels Physics fills in late may 2 chambers not connected to the gas supply! Completely dead in may (infact: HV off!) Some noise appears here It caused the famous “bump” spotted in the DQ histos LHCb week

  5. Status of hardware • Hardware rather stable from the point of view of dead/noisy channels Physics fills in June 2 chambers not connected to the gas supply! Still not fixed… No more noise after threshold tuning at end of may ! LHCb week

  6. Status of hardware • Dead channels detail: • M2-M5: 11 / 16704 (0.07%) • M1: 42 /9216 ( 0.5% ) • M1-M5: 53/25920, (0.2%) • Fix M1A 22C+24C: • Next long shutdown, beam pipe need to be vented LHCb week

  7. Status of ECS • HV control system: after the deep revision in January it is very stable and reliable • Also the ECS in general did not show major problems or failures • Implementation ODEs monitoring and alarms • Maurizio is working on that. More difficult than foreseen. A lot of parameters to be monitored: need to be implemented at firmware level not to overload the OPC servers • Work on Muon Error Banks in TELL1 • Erros banks could be created but their format was found to be incorrect – still investigating • Implement FEBs configuration parameters monitoring and alarms • Davide is coming in August at CERN and will work on this. Same considerations as ODE hold for the FEBs LHCb week

  8. Monitoring, Calibration • See Giacomo’s talk now…. LHCb week
