    3. Our Mission To provide life enrichment for mature learners through intellectually challenging courses through encouragement of social interactions

    5. Our Members welcomed at 50 years of age are mostly retirees had diverse occupations live in 15-20 communities on the North Shore

    6. Development of Explorers begun in 1992 by retired SSC professors first housed on College campus now renting suite of rooms near Peabody Essex Museum

    10. Nature of Participation courses teach class assistants committee members Board members WE ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS.

    11. Our Courses meet once a week for 2 hours vary in length – 4, 6, 8 weeks formats: lectures/discussions, study groups, workshops, museum classes topics: arts, literature, science, current events cost $200.00 /year

    12. Calendar Year – 2004-2005 fall semester – September to December 40 courses spring semester – March to June 37 courses winter intersession – January and February -- 11 offerings summer intersession – July and August -- 12 offerings
