  1. Centralized Battery Systems for Emergency Lighting In recent times we are having many queries and requests regarding the need for lighting compatible with Centralized Battery Systems (CBS), so Electrotrade has decided to open our series of technical texts talking about this issue. Before starting it is important to remember that the luminaires supplied by Electrotrade are NOT emergency luminaires and that the systems that we are going to talk about in this document DO NOT make them into this type of luminaire either. These systems, simply, make that the luminaires can continue working, for a certain time, after a power outage. Also, a differentiation must be made between what would be the two typical lighting power systems in case of emergency, which may well be Centralized Systems (Central Batteries System, which will be CBS from now on), where a battery power station feeds the luminaires, in direct current (hereinafter DC), allowing it to achieve a power similar to that of its normal supply, or Decentralized Systems (EM Kit - Emergency Kit), where each luminaire has its own point-by-point power supply system, where one or more Batteries feed the luminaires in DC, allowing to achieve a power, generally, between 3 and 7W. In this article we are going to focus on CBS. Already focused on what concerns us in this document, the CBS are composed of a central module, a battery or battery bank and the associated luminaires together with the necessary wiring to make the connections. Reducing your total inspection and maintenance cost In addition to our portfolio of dedicated emergency lighting products, we offer a wide range of inspection and maintenance systems and central power supplies, which provide advantages for specific types of buildings, where inspection and
