  1. COSOA HS STACKED GAME PROTOCOL 3:00 GAME • 1. Start the 3:00 game on time.  If you note safety field issues on your Pregame inspection, immediately notify the home team coach. • 2. If your AR is late, designate him as AR2 and simply place a flag at the Center Line.  Inform the coaches that you will be running a "modified diagonal" until the other official arrives.   • 3. Ask the coaches: • Is there anything you can do to facilitate a timely start of the game AND facilitate turnover between games.   • Where the 4:30 team will be and have them ready to enter the field • To leave the team area immediately after the game. • Thank them for their cooperation! Note: You should never be the cause of a LATE START.

  2. COSOA HS STACKED GAME PROTOCOL 3:00 GAME • 4. If possible, at half time, try to obtain the 4:30 rosters & game balls. • 5. If the 3:00 game becomes non-competitive, consider "letting your clock run".  If this is obvious at half time, you might even let the coaches know. • 6. At the end of the game, the AR2 will NOT join the Crew nor get the Game balls. Note: You should never be the cause of a LATE START.

  3. COSOA HS STACKED GAME PROTOCOL BETWEEN GAMES • 1. At game end, the AR1 will jog out to the Center official in the usual manner. They will then jog to their ‘Officials Area’.  Please do NOT participate in a formal post game handshake.   (If you wish, you may orally congratulate the teams on game well played, etc.). At this time, the Center and AR1 will confirm score and cards. Consider sitting down or turning away from the field to discourage anyone interrupting you. • 2. At game end, the AR2 will immediately go to the 4:30 Away coach.  Ask the Away coach (or assistant) for the Complete roster and if the players will be legally and properly equipped for the start of the game.  Then ask the Home coach and get their roster. • 3. The AR2 will then deliver the rosters & confirm equipment check to the Center. Note: You should never be the cause of a LATE START.

  4. COSOA HS STACKED GAME PROTOCOL BETWEEN GAMES • 4. As soon as possible, the Center for the 4:30 game will request captains and perform the coin toss with customary Pregame discussion.   Inform them you will be blowing your whistle for their teams to enter the field immediately. • 5. Meanwhile AR1 will obtain and check the game balls. • 6. Perform a brief Pregame either while waiting for the teams or Captains or on your walk out to start the game. Please limit your Pregame to emphasize what is different than the 3:00 Pregame. Beat the players on to the field!

  5. COSOA HS STACKED GAME PROTOCOL ABNORMAL SITUATIONS • 1.  If the 3:00 game does not start on time, please note the start time and reason, e.g., Ref Crew late due to traffic accident, Away team bus late, Net required anchoring, sprinkler head hazard had to be repaired, etc. • 2. If the 4:30 game starts later than 4:40, please note the time of start and reason, e.g., Injury in 3:00 game required prolonged stoppage, Coach did not have roster ready, etc. Beat the players on to the field!
