  3. Story Challenge Begins The Big Nerd Ranch is a tech company founded by Aaron Hillegass, an early developer at Apple. He needed a new building for the Nerd Ranch and decided on renovating a dilapidated iron works warehouse. The building’s poor condition required extensive support and hours of unforeseen issues.

  4. Story Testing Design The support structure between Fabral’s engineering team and customer care provided materials for Kronberg Wall to create a full scale wall mock-up used to test their design concept.

  5. Total System Choosing Fabral Fabralwas chosen for the wide variety of easily available colors that gave Ellsworth the freedom to express her unique design concept. The building features vertical to horizontal transitions in pewter, bright silver, and terra cotta.

  6. Total System It was important to the building owner to maintain the steel structure. The design uses exposed fastener 4” Rib in horizontal and vertical orientations, mechanically seamed 16” Powerseam on the roof, and horizontal concealed fastener 16” HCF in key areas.

  7. Conclusion By transforming an abandoned warehouse into a modern office building, The Big Nerd Ranch creates inspiration for sustainability. The challenge can be great, but collaboration between KronbergWall and Fabral illustrates that solutions exist.
