  4. SNOWMAN among others • > 70 ERA-Nets exist around Europe, • European Commission identified 15 Environment ERA-Nets in FP6: • 5 have not started a call yet, • 5 are planning a coordinated call, • 5 of these have completed or launched a coordinated call. • SNOWMAN is one of the 5 Environment ERA-Nets having a coordinated call lauched or completed! 2. 7. What does SNOWMAN want? SNOWMAN wants to encourage trans-national cooperation of research and innovation activities making the ERA for sustainable management of soil and groundwater pollution a reality. • This communication objective will be supported by • informing funding organisations about the advantages of joining SNOWMAN • a network of soil and groundwater researchers in Europe, and • the maximum use of research results due to an involvement of knowledge users in all phases of the RTD process. 5.

  8. The SNOWMAN research projects (1) Based on the results of the SNOWMAN call evaluation process, the Call Steering Committee of SNOWMAN has recommended 5 projects for funding: 6.
