  1. 2007- I was lucky enough to get a teaching job in November at Wainwright Elementary teaching a ¾ split. I had never been more excited!! I start my first day and realized it was nothing like I thought it was going to be. The students were angry about moving classes so they were mean to me and destroyed my things. The staff helped me through the year of tears and I survived. I know now I can do anything!! May 2007- I graduated from MSU!! 2007- I took a permanent subbing position in Lansing teaching 5th grade. 2. 2009- This year I didn’t get called back until October. The stress of waiting is horrible. I got called to North Elementary teaching a reduced class size 1st grade. This particular class was a challenge, but I was glad I got to teach the same grade for a 2nd year. I finally felt like I was starting to get comfortable with the 1st grade curriculum. 2008- I was called back to a 1st grade position at Post Oak Elementary. I fell in love with first grade and I had a wonderful class and staff. It was an amazing experience, too bad I could stay. June 2009 Layoff June 2010 Layoff 2010- I got lucky and was called back to North again to teach 2nd grade. I was thrilled to be at the same school again. It is so hard to move every year and meet all new people. It can be very lonely at times because so many teaching relationships have already been formed. This was another challenging year. I had about 18 kids move in and out throughout the year. We never really had the classroom community that we needed. I was hoping North would be my permanent home, but I should have known better!! 3. 2011- This was yet another stressful beginning to the school year. I didn’t called back until October. I accepted a kindergarten position at Reo Elementary. I only have 14 kids and it has been a wonderful experience thus far. February 2012- As of right now the district is considering closing the school I am at. So it will be another layoff and another summer of worry and stress. June 2012 Layoff
