Senior Grading Dates • You Should Have Received Progress Report #1 • 1st Quarter ends October 7th • 2nd Progress Report November 10th • 1st Semester Ends December 15th • 3rd Progress Report February 10th • 3rd Quarter ends March 17th • Last Progress Report May 5th • Senior Finals Week-Tentative Week of May 22nd
Class of 2017 Alpha Breakdown • Counselors can be reached via email, phone, in person through appointment • For students, it is recommended they seek their counselor during lunchtime counseling on Tuesdays and Thursdays so they do not miss class
Graduation/A-G Requirements • MVUSD • 4 Years of English • 3 Years of Math(IM 1/Alg 1 required) • 2.5 Years of Science • 3 Years of Social Science • 1 Year Total of Visual/Performing Art or Foreign Language • 2 Years of PE • 70 Elective Credits • UC/CSU(Must Pass with C or Better) • 4 Years of College Prep English • 3 Years of Math(4 Recommended) • 2 Years of Lab Sciences(1 Year of Physical, Life, 3 Recommended) • 2 Years of Social Science • 1 Year of Approved Visual/Performing Art • 2 Years of Foreign Language(3 Recommended) • 1 Year of College Prep Elective

NCAA Eligibility Center (Mr. Sanchez-counselor) If you are planning to play sports at a Division 1 or Division 2 college, you should have registered at the end of your Junior year. Go to www.eligibilitycenter.org to register as soon as possible! See Mr. Sanchez in Guidance if you have any questions!

College and Career Fair • October 7, 2016 -Visit our annual College & Career Fair in the Gym • Seniors will be attending during their Government/Economics classes. • Open to the public from 12pm-1:30pm. Expecting 25-30 different colleges and career programs!
Race to Submit: FAFSA (Mrs. Nava) Why is the FAFSA important to complete? FREE MONEY FOR COLLEGE/CAREER TECH SCHOOLS! Who should complete? ALL GRADUATING SENIORS—GRADUATION REQUIREMENT!! Are there incentives to complete the FAFSA? • Prom ticket • Winter Formal tickets • Grad Night ticket • Senior T-Shirts • Yearbook • Class competition for a Pizza Party (100% complete) GRAND PRIZES: -Drawing for 2 Extra Graduation Tickets for each student that completes the FAFSA by December 15, 2016 -Drawing for Senior Week Package (worth $355).
Graduation/Senior Contract (Mrs. Nava) • Lizette Nava, Assistant Principal • All suspendable offenses will be grounds for student not to participate in the end-of-the-year Senior activities, including graduation. • Cap and Gown: no alterations or deviations and if found to be altered, student will be immediately removed from the graduation ceremony. • Wear appropriate and suitable attire during graduation ceremonies (please see MVUSD dress code). • Report to all senior practices & give full attention &cooperation. • Do not call personal attention to yourself, not to behave in any manner that may disrupt the graduation ceremony, or cause embarrassment to the school, class, yourself, your family or guests. • Do not bring any items to the ceremony otherwise will be confiscated and will not be returned (cell phones, cameras, etc.). • Pay all outstanding fees before being able to participate in Prom, Grad Night, Senior Week, and Commencement. • Do not consume any form of an alcoholic beverage, legal substance not prescribed to me or illegal substance prior to, or during graduation or at any other senior class function (Prom, Senior Week, Grad Night, or any school activity). --The school must be notified of all prescription medication. • Any Top Scholar whose GPA is not a 4.0 or above for 3rd quarter progress reports may not participate in graduation Top Scholar activities.
