  2. People in this group like working with plants and animals, usually outdoors. You might do physical outside work like farming, fishing, and forestry. Other people work with animals, training or taking care of them. Work Interests

  3. People in this Sub-Group operate businesses like farms, ranches, hatcheries, and nurseries in all sub-groups of Plants and Animals. Group #?: Managerial Work

  4. People in this sub-group such as veterinarians and their helpers or zoo keepers, take care of animals. Others may train many different animals such as dogs and horses. Group #?:Animal care and Training

  5. Group # ?:Hands-on Work in Plants and Animals People in this sub-group do hard physical work, often outdoors. They work with their hands, hand tools, and operate machinery.

  6. Where would I work? people in this group work in places such as: forests, fish hatcheries, farms and ranches; Plant and landscaping businesses; pet shops, boarding kennels, and animal hospitals; zoos and aquariums; stables and race tracks; and parks and campground.

  7. Animal Breeder In this career you could expect to make $18,000 to $60,000 dollars a year. The workplace can be indoors or outdoors depending on the animal. People who breed bigger animals usually live in rural areas. You would probably need an associates or bachelors degree. Good skills to have for this job would be organization, research skills, record keeping skills, and physical strength.

  8. Zoo Keeper You could be expected to make between 20,000 and 50,000 dollars a year. You would need an associate’s or bachelor’s degree. You can work indoors or outdoors. Most are employed by zoos. Good skills to have for this job are a love of animals, physical fitness, a joy for teaching, observant, and communication skills.

  9. Veterinarian Your expected earnings would be 47,000 to 144,000 a year. Most work indoors in a private practice. Good skills to have for this job would be communication skills, observant, decisive, hardworking, and that you are good with people. You would also need to go to college for 4 years or more to get a masters degree.

  10. Conservation Officer Your expected earnings would be 30,000 to 60,000 a year. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree is required for most employees. Most work would be done outside. Good skills to have for this job are communication skills, the ability to work independently, physical fitness and being committed to wildlife and the environment.
