Key words: at the Airport • Window seat or aisle? • Layover – place and time to change planes • Departure time - when the airplane leaves • Arrival time – when the airplane lands • Gate – where plane boards or lets you out • Flight – the airplane’s route number • Baggage claim – where you pick up suitcase/luggage • Board – get on the plane

Key Words - hotel • Check-in - arriving, get room number, pay • Check-out / Check out time – Leaving / when you must leave. • Front desk – where you check in • Reservation – to hold aside a room • Confirm reservation – call hotel to be sure they have a room for you. • Single/double room – one or two beds • Non-smoking – smoking not allowed

  6. Where to stay: Motel • Drive to the door; usually one story. • Generally cheap; reservations not required.

  7. Where to stay: Hotel • Hotel – central check-in; usually an elevator. • Can be very expensive
