Latona Pre-3’s Co-Operative Preschool Experience Class runs Tuesday and Thursday 9:30-11:30 *Parent/Caregiver works one weekday, and drops-off alternate weekday day Daily Schedule 9:30 Arrival 9:30 – 10:15 Free Choice at Play Stations 10:15 – 10:20 Clean Up 10:20 – 10:35 Circle Time 10:35 – 10:55 Snack/Small Group 10:55 – 11:20 Gross Motor/Outside Play 11:20 – 11:30 Closing Circle/Book/Goodbye *Workday preferences to be noted by end this meeting

  5. Pre-3’s cooperative Preschool experience: Parent/Caregiver Perform an administrative role such as serving on the All School Board, Class Board, or other non-board/class-specific job. Work one day a week in the classroom (2-2.5 hrs/wk) Attend once-a-month evening *Parent Meetings for co-op business & parent education (2 hrs/mo.) Support school fundraising efforts & financial goals (Typically cookie dough, car wash vouchers, Chinook Books, etc.) Provide a nutritious snack for the class on a rotating basis Take part in classroom and playground cleanings *Recurring Parent Meeting dates/day-of week to be decided by majority of incoming class

Parents are College Students Too! • Co-op parents are automatically enrolled as students in the NSC Parent Education Program. • Parents may obtain a NSC student ID card (good for city-wide student discounts & access to NSC student services including the gym!) • $48 Quarterly Parent Tuition owed Fall, Winter, & Spring Quarters

  13. Latona Pre-3’s 2016-2017 Tuition Schedule Additional one-time, non-refundable $40 Registration Fee paid upon joining to secure spot on roster. *May tuition will be pre-paid in two consecutive installments (October through November) in order to guarantee the Teacher's May salary.

Notes on Tuition: • Please make all checks out to Latona Pre-3’s, include child’s name in memo line • Child’s monthly tuition due month in advance at monthly Parent Mtg. • May tuition will be pre-paid in two consecutive installments (October & November) in order to guarantee the Teacher's May salary. • Additional Cost: Each family is expected to participate in school fundraising efforts to meet school fundraising goals as budgeted. • Optional: $50.00 quarterly pass or $3 daily parking passes for NSC on-campus parking lots, purchased at Cashier’s Office/College Center Bldg.

  15. PAC Scholarship Information • The purpose of the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) Scholarship Fund is to help families who need assistance in meeting the tuition costs in our cooperative program. • The maximum amount awarded to any family would be up to 65% of the tuition costs during a college quarter. • Have the co-op treasurer complete and sign the treasurer section of the application form. Complete the remainder of the form. • Applications are submitted quarterly and must be mailed or hand-delivered to the North Seattle Community College by the following deadlines (address is on the form): Fall Quarter ................. 3rd Friday of September Winter Quarter ........... 1st Friday of December; Spring Quarter............. 1st Friday of March • Notifications will be evaluated by PAC on the basis of financial need and the applicant’s involvement in the cooperative. Notification of the award will be mailed to the co-op treasurer who will inform applicants of the results. • Application forms are provided by the Class Treasurer with co-op details completed. • http://coops.northseattle.edu/scholarship/scholarship.html

Latona Pre-3’s In-House Scholarship • In-house scholarships (limited to 25% of tuition) are also available for families not able to meet tuition costs. • We request that families first apply for the PAC scholarship at the start of the quarter and then apply for in-house scholarship if the award is insufficient. • New families joining the cooperative mid-term or families experiencing a sudden financial crisis may apply for the in-house scholarship at any time without first applying for the PAC scholarship. • Please complete the Latona Pre-3’s In-house Scholarship application, being sure to detail any special circumstance, and return to the treasurer. • Strictest confidentiality will be maintained; only the treasurer and Parent Education Instructor will be aware of the identity of the applicant. Scholarships requests are approved by the Latona Pre-3’s Board on a case-by-case basis, subject to availability of funds. Application forms for the PAC and Latona Pre-3’s In-house Scholarships can be obtained from your treasurer.

  17. Teacher Jeanne mcGradYChild Educatorjeanne.mcgrady@gmail.com Teacher Jeanne has been involved in co op since 2006, both as a parent with her two kids and as a teacher. She believes in a play based curriculum, loves child led play and is passionate about community building Jeanne provides a safe and caring environment for the children while keeping things fabulously fun through art, stories, songs, imaginative play, field trips, outside play and circle time. Her goal for the kids is to learn who they are, how to be a part of their community (whatever that is for them) and to begin to learning problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

Teacher Betty WilliamsParent EducatorBetty.Williams@seattlecolleges.edu Betty has been working FT at North Seattle College as a Parent Education Instructor since 2004, and with children and families for her entire career.  Her vision for Parent Education is to provide a balance of opportunities for you to discuss the joys & challenges of parenting, share strategies with the others in the class, and receive information from the field of early childhood education. Betty works in partnership with Teacher Jeanne to support your learning in the classroom and beyond. Betty enjoys the opportunity to share resources and support families with young children during such a foundational time in their lives.
