  3. DesertBiodiversity • Plant species: creosote bush, sagebrush, ocotillo, and cacti • Animal species: snakes ,insects ,lizards ,skinks, geckos, gazelles , dikdiks, kangaroo ,rat , and kit fox • 15 different kinds of plants and animals.

  4. Adaptations Needed for Survival • Plant : Their good at storing and finding water. Some plants have seeds that can stay dormant in the sand for a long time until there is enough rain for them to grow • Animal: Some mice build their home out of fallen cactus spines to protect themselves from predators

  5. Name of BiomeInteractions of Biotic and Abiotic • Biotic: Snakes eat mice. Cactus stores water. • Abiotic: There is not any grass because there is little rain.

  6. What is Biodiversity? • It is big variety of plants and animals of a ecosystem.

  7. How does biodiversity contribute to the sustainability of an ecosystem? • Use the handout given in class to answer the above question • Its contributes for food , materials , and medicines
