  1. TOPIC 6: SHOPPING(1) • Suggested questions 1. Do you like shopping? How often do you go shopping? • I love shopping very much. It makes me feel good. I love fashion so it’s cool to see what everyone is wearing, showing and buying • I actually don’t like shopping. I hate making decisions, and it irritates me to spend all that time looking for what I want. It irritates me more if it’s too expensive.

  2. TOPIC 6: SHOPPING(2) 2.Which shops do you often visit? What is your favourite shop? (Give a name, where it is and when it is open) 3. Who do you often go with? Why? 4. How do you spend your money? 5. Have you ever come there just for fun? And what do you like to look at and do there? 6. What do you think about their service, goods or prices? 7. Do you often buy things in supermarkets?/Do you often visit shopping malls? 8. What are the advantages/disadvantages of doing shopping in supermarkets and shopping malls? 9. Do you do shopping at weekends? 10. Do you sometimes buy more than you really need?

Shopping habits: - Go to town to do some shopping every Sunday, every week……….. - Often visit shoe shops, clothes shops, bookshops, candy shops, toyshops, record shops ……… - Visit high-class/low-class shops, shops where I can find affordable things to buy. - Prefer the shops near my house - Go with friends, sisters…… because they can help me (to) choose suitable ones with the right size. - Sometimes I go window-shopping in my lunchtime, looking for things to buy when I get paid/I never go window-shopping because when I see something really beautiful I always regret not having enough money to buy it.

TOPIC 6: SHOPPING(4) - I prefer doing shopping in supermarkets because I can find a wide variety of products there: groceries, cosmetics, electronic devices….. - I seldom buy groceries in supermarkets, because the food is not always fresh there. - I try to avoid shopping at weekends because I don’t want to stand in long queues. - I usually buy domestic goods because they are often cheaper and I want to support my country’s industries. - I rarely buy too much unnecessary things because I often make a list of products that I need.

Service: perfect, good, fine (shop assistants smile at me and answer all my questions) or bad (shop assistants reply with short answers) b. Prices: expensive, competitive, reasonable, cheap, affordable (can bargain with dealers/sellers) c. Shop assistants: polite, well-dressed, cheerful and friendly d. The atmosphere: tidy, clean, equipped with air conditioners 3. How I spend my money: on clothes/shoes/make-up…. Buy/purchase some clothes (jeans, blouses…..)/books (on philosophy, science….)/shoes (high-heeled shoes, flat shoes…..)
