Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, is considered the Yoga capital of India. Here, people come to endure the calming experience of Yoga. Recently, the government of India was considering making Yoga activity compulsory in schools. But before the final decision comes out, we must know about its pros and cons.
Pros 1. Relaxation We all know that the students are pretty stressed in schools with multiple subjects to cope at and various activities to perform. Then they have the homeworks and regular tests to add to their pressure. Yoga can prove to be helpful in such a scenario considering the students do it well, as taught.

Pros 3. Handle pressure With Yoga as a habitual activity in their lives, the students will be able to handle pressure in a better way. At least, they'll know how to keep calm and patience while facing any unexpected situation.
Cons 1. Injury Wrong method of teaching or the wrong way of performing Yoga exercises can lead to severe injuries including neck, back and joints. Yoga must be done very carefully but the students might take it as a fun.
Cons 2. Extra burden Already the students have around 5-6 subject's lecture everyday along with extra activities and tests. On top of all this, the relaxation-aimed Yoga might become another burden where they have to forcefully try to get into peaceful posture which is not so easy at the beginning.
Yoga, It is integral to our well-being. But forcing the students from an early age might be more of pressure than peace out of Yoga activities.
