  1. Effects of video games on Students With the advancement of technology, Video games have become common among students. Schools in Dehradun develop innovative ways to make video games a medium of learning for students.

  2. Video Games: A video game is a form of entertainment, but refers not only to games played on a personal computer, but also to games run by a console or arcade machine. Playing video games can affect student’s lives in both Positive and Negative ways.

  3. Positive Ways Working Together As a Team There are several games which allows multiplayer facilities which helps to develop team spirit within children. The helps to build skills necessary to work together as a team.

  4. Better Decision Making Skills Most of the fast paced games require students to make quick decision in short interval of time, hence improving decision making skills of children

  5. Leadership Qualities Various video games helps students in developing leadership qualities by giving certain tasks it helps students in managing time efficiently.

  6. Advanced Learning With the technological advancements there are innovative games that help students to learn quickly in a fun and entertaining way. There are certain games and puzzles available that makes students brain sharp.

  7. Negative Effects Health Issues There are several health issues which can affect children if they spend a lot of time playing video games. The common health issues faced by students are obesity, pain in joints and muscles, weak eyesight, ect.

  8. Academic Issues Spending a lot of time in playing video games can lead to low academic performance for students. Students tend to lose their interest in studies as they get addicted to playing video games.

  9. Social Disconnection Children get so involved in playing video games that they limit their social engagement with real life. As a result, students are likely to develop mental disorders, stress, anxiety and depression.

  10. Aggressive behaviour Game involving violent graphics and lead to developing aggressive behaviour in students. Children start behaving impatiently and aggressively.
