  2. Do now • How could the GGS Learner Profile words also be the GGS LeadershipProfile words? • Discuss in pairs – 5 minutes

  3. Revisiting learning from last session • What do leaders do? • Make a list in pairs – 5 minutes

  4. How would you behave as a leader? • Scenario 1 The school has identified that teachers need to use modelling to exemplify high standards of work. You know your department is not too confident with this. How would you approach this? • Scenario 2 Your Year Team has the highest number of lates in the school. You discover that the team are not setting the required detentions. How would you approach this? How did you go about deciding what to do?

  5. Leadership styles According to Daniel Goleman leaders work within a mix of six styles. Every style consists of specific methods and is ideally applicable only in certain situations

  6. Team Task • Elect a team leader. Team leader picks up an envelope and some materials from me. • Team are to build a tower with only the materials given. The leader is in control. • You will have ten minutes to build a tower as tall as you can make it. • When the clock stops. The tower has to stand unaided for ten seconds. • The winning team (prize given!) is the team who have built the tallest tower that can stand unaided doe ten seconds.
