  1. Genetic Engineering By Vanko Yao

  2. What is Genetic Engineering ? • Genetic engineering is the manipulation of an organism’s genes to create a desired characteristic.

  3. What is Genetic Engineering used for? • Scientists uses it to knock out certain genes from an organism to observe the effects caused by those genes. • With the mapping of the human genome and the genomes of other important animals and plants, scientists have been able to manipulate the genes of other organisms in order to produce beneficial products for human.

  4. Super Foods • Farmers have been producing genetically engineered super foods that have been saving cities around the world from crime. With such heroes as Spider-Tomato, Broccoli-Boy and Bat-Pumpkin the cities can rest easy knowing they are safe.

  5. Genetically engineered Foods • Just kidding. Farmers have been producing foods that have been genetically altered to be more nutritious, delicious, resistant to harmful pesticides and have the ability to repel pests. • Harmful long term effects have yet to be seen in consumers.

  6. Controversies • Consumers of the genetically engineered foods are worried about the adverse effects that the foods might have on them. Since this is a new technology, there hasn’t been a lot of time to examine the long term effects of these new foods. • Some consider it inorganic.

  7. No more air pollutions • Genetic engineering fossil are renewable and easier find on the environment than fossil fuels. • The genetic engineering fossil fuels don’t produce the air pollution in our life.

  8. Conclusion • Any new technology has its set of advantages and disadvantages. However, you cannot condemn a beneficial technology because of the possible misuse. Saying no to genetic engineering would be like refusing to log on to the internet because you are afraid your email account might get hacked. The simple solutions are to use the technology with great caution.
