Codification based on eOTD • Electronic Open Technical Dictionary • Originator of eOTD is ECCMA - Electronic Commerce Code Management Association • eOTD principles are based on NCS • Open codification system • Codification of any objects (individuals, organizations, location, goods or services) • Automation support for codification processes, codification at source • Language independence, adoption of new ICT technology (Web services, XML) • eOTD standardization – ISO 22745, ISO 8000 • Main partners: ECCMA, DLIS, AC/135

MC CATALOGUE – software for NCS and eOTD codification • Smart tool for easy and user-friendly materiel codification according to the NATO standards andeOTD / ISO 8000 / ISO 22745 data quality standards • MC CATALOGUE supports: • Management of the complete codification process (workflow) • Management of codification contract clauses • Direct data exchange between NCB and suppliers using electronic transactions • Seamless integration of eOTD functionalities (MCC eOTD) • MC CATALOGUE is a smart web-based application • Independence from hardware platform and operating systems • No installation needed on workstations, usage of internet browsers (Firefox, MS IE), secure worldwide access

  5. eOTD modules in MC CATALOGUE • MC CATALOGUE includes: • IG Manager • Master Data Manager • Query Manager • eOTD – NCS Connector • IG Manager • Creation and maintenance of Identification Guides (IG) • Creation of quite new IGs for codification of items outside the defence industry or for codification of services • Full support for import/export of IGs in eOTD-i-xml format • Master Data Manager • Creation and maintenance of codified items • Generation of MD record from linked IG • Import/export of MD items in eOTD-r-xml format

  6. eOTD modules in MC CATALOGUE • Query Manager • Complete functionality for data exchange (query-reply) according to the system eOTD and ISO 8000 • Creation of output query, its export to the eOTD-q-xml file • Processing of input query, import of received eOTD-q-xml file • Generation of the response for received query including automatic screening for master data items • eOTD – NCS Connector • Transformation of MD items based on eOTD from MD Manager repository to the NCS items • Automatic generation of TIR (Total Item Record) • Information projected from eOTD to NCS: • Attributes in segment A • Reference in segment C • Property/Value pairs in segment V

Codification of services • The fastest growing needs at codification area • Currently available tools do not provide sufficient functionality • eOTD system has enough instruments to allow codification of services • Open dictionary to adopt new Property/Value pairs • Complex data model is prepared for codification of services • MC CATALOGUE with MCC eOTD enables: • Creation of new Identification Guides for services • Codification of services according to IGs • Maintenance of MD items for codified services and their standardized exchange using xml files

AURA’s expertise in eOTD and Smart STEP Codification • 1st international “ISO 8000 Data Quality Conference” • Battle Creek (Michigan, USA) October 2008, AURA presented a prototype of a new module MCC eOTD • AC/135 Seminar on ISO 8000 and ISO 22745 • Bristol (United Kingdom) November 2008, AURA demonstrated the eOTD solution for NCBs and industry • PACS 2009 – Pacific Area Codification Seminar • Seoul (South Korea) April 2009, AURA demonstrated the eOTD solution for NCBs and industry • SMART STEP CODIFICATION III meeting • Newcastle (United Kingdom) June 2009, AURA joined the SSC III project and demonstrated the MCC eOTD solution • NCS Modernisation Working Group meeting • Luxembourg June 2009, AURA presented suggestions for improving NCS and demonstrated the MCC eOTD solution • AURA has been certified by • ISO 9001:2000, NATO AQAP 2110, ISO 8000-110:2008 Master Data Quality Manager 9

Activities in Russian Federation • Cooperation with Russian partners since 2007 • MC CATALOGUE implementation at Rosoboronexport, State Corporation • Complete localization to Russian language • Productive operation since 200x • Cooperation with the Federal Centre of Codification (ФЦК) of the Russian Federation • Consultations about usage of eOTD • Support for Smart STEP Codification • Cooperation in area of ISO 8000 and ISO 22745 standards • AURA’s eOTD codification projects are open also for organizations and companies from Russian Federation

Future of eOTD codificationin MC CATALOGUE • Development new functions and features • Better user support for automation and codification at source • Deployment of AURA’s solutions (MCC eOTD) at commercial industry • Application of our long-term practical experience in the codification area to delivery of efficient consultations and services • Our goal: • Provide our customers with services so that they will be able to work with standardized quality data, lower the costs and promote their products in the market
