SWEEP – Litter Picks Letter from local resident: • ‘….it was an absolute pleasure to return along Cardonald Place Road to find a crowd of pupils diligently clearing up the litter… I would like to congratulate the school and its pupils for their part in this initiative’ • Also, excellent reports from Community Action Team about pupils taking part in litter picks

SWEEP – Football Coaching, Zumba, Murray Park Trip All reports re. pupil behaviour and attitude have been very positive Tom MacKay (CAT) on Murray Park Trip ‘The Rangers coaches and Councillor Watson were so complimentary and ecstatic about how well behaved the pupils were….. it came as no surprise to me or our team how great your pupils were today as they are a credit to your school’

Fund-Raising • Recent non-uniform day raised £775 for the Commonwealth Ambassador Programme • Sotonye David-West (S4) was one of a group of pupils who represented Glasgow in Delhi • This will go towards helping a nominated school in Delhi who currently have very little resources WELL DONE TO ALL!!

  9. TV Stars • Victoria Rose and Erin McCardie (both S6) have appeared on River City recently • A great achievement – well done girls!!

  10. Construction Award • Greg Moffat (S4) has won a John Mather Trust Award (1 of only 2 Glasgow boys) for his work in construction in S3 at Cardonald College. • Greg attended an award ceremony at Hampden Park and he will receive £50, a presentation medal and a tour of the stadium & Museum of Football. Well Done Greg!!

  11. Art Award • Sarah Milligan, S6, won the top award at Castle Toward during an Art residential week in the summer. • Highly prized award for her friendly and helpful nature, hard work and enthusiasm she has shown over the two years she has been going to Toward.

  12. Football Star • Dylan Dykes (S3) is currently on a day – release programme with Rangers Football Club • Training at Murray Park one day a week with Rangers coaches

  13. DVD Producers David Chaudhry and George Murdoch (S4) played lead roles in the production of a DVD about gang culture. James Bell (S4) also made a contribution to this. Involved in filming, scriptwriting, acting and editing Their efforts have been highly commended by the group leader We look forward to seeing the DVD…
