  3. Our Curriculum The curriculum aims to ensure that all children and young people in Scotland develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they will need if they are to flourish in life, learning and work, now and in the future.

  4. Broad General Education • Your child is currently in the second year of their entitlement to a Broad General Education • This provides them with continuous opportunities for learning in the eight Curricular Areas. • Our broad curriculum is based on Subject Experiences and Outcomes that provide breadth and depth, challenge and enjoyment.

  5. Curricular Areas

  6. Personalisation and Choice An entitlement – one of the seven principles of Curriculum Design Allowing pupils choice within the Curricular Areas Will support enhanced progress in S2/S3 Will ensure sound preparation for The Senior Phase

  7. Finding a Balance • Entitled to both: • Broad General Education • Personalisation and Choice • We are retaining the breadth by ensuring all pupils are engaged in all curricular areas • We are allowing personalisation by giving them some say in the subjects they study
