  1. ēCO Savings Race Mini-Race Checklist Just for Youth! At ēCO Credit Union, we feel the sooner kids and teens learn good financial habits and how to manage money, the better. Just for Youth! Mini-Races allow kids and teens to set goals and learn more about finances. Youth Mini-Racers have the opportunity to win great prizes at the conclusion of the Savings Race! Mini Race Prizes: 100+ Points = $25 in ēCO Share Account For every 25 points earned, your name will be entered into a drawing for the Mini-Race Grand Prize: Grand Prize: $1,000 To Enter: Please Complete the Following Information: Name: Address: City/State/Zip: Phone Number: Email Address: Are you currently an ēCO Member? Y or N How did you hear about the ēCO Savings Race? 1. Print or pick-up the Mini-Race Checklist. 2. Check off each task you complete. 3. Complete as many tasks as possible. Be sure to get verification for tasks that need it. 4. Tally your points and submit your ēCO Savings Race Checklist by April 18, 2016. Checklists can be submitted: • At any ēCO Branch • Through email: npearman@ecocu.org • By mail: eCO Credit Union, Attn: Nathan Pearman P.O. Box 2385, Birmingham, AL 35201 I certify the information I have provided regarding my completion of tasks for the ēCO Savings Race Mini-Races is correct and accurate. I understand that falsifying information will result in my disqualification from the Mini-Races and prize eligibility.   2. Save Better Learn a Lot 1 point: Set a dollar amount you would like to save by April 18, 2016. Amount: Calculate exactly how much money you need to save per month to reach your savings goal in time. Amount: 5 points: Take advantage of ēCO’s Education Incentive. Bring your report card to any ēCO branch, and we’ll deposit $5 in your account. ēCO Verification: Collect spare change in your piggy bank or ēCO Can. Once it’s full, deposit the funds in your ēCO Account. 10 points: Work with your parents or guardian to create a savings plan for a future goal (example: buying a car or college). Parent Verification: Complete extra chores to earn allowance. Parent Verification: Work in your neighborhood to earn extra money. Parent Verification: Create “Save”, “Give”, and “Spend” envelopes to budget money. Parent Verification: Be an existing Kirby Kangaroo or CU Succeed Club member or open a Kirby Kangaroo or CU Succeed Club Account. Account #: Meet or surpass your self-assigned savings goal by April 18, 2016. Account #: 3 points: Explain the difference between a debit and credit card. (Hint- you can ask your parents for help) Explain what a credit score is and why it’s important. (Hint- you can ask your parents for help) Visit the Kirby Kangaroo or CU Succeed website. A link can be found under the Just for Youth! section of ēCO’s Website (www.ecocu.org). Vote for your favorite Savings Race team. (Make sure you have your parents’ permission before using the Internet) 5 points: Like ēCO Credit Union on Facebook. (www.youtube.com/ecocreditunion) (Make sure you have your parents’ permission before using the Internet) Read a book by a financial expert. Book title: Attend a free ēCO Savings Race University Class. (5 points per class) List Classes: Tune in to WIAT 42 for the 6 o’clock news on Monday or Tuesday’s Wake Up Alabama to watch a Savings Race segment. Share with Others Extra Credit 3 points: Post a financial tip on ēCO’s Facebook page. (www.facebook.com/ecocreditunion) (Make sure you have your parents’ permission before using the Internet) 5 points: Share the ēCO Savings Race site (www.ecosavingsrace.org) via social media. (Make sure you have your parents’ permission before using the Internet) 10 points: Refer a friend to open an account at ēCO Credit Union. (10 points per friend) Friend’s name: 10 points: Give money to your favorite charity or your church. Complete all of the challenges in one category. Compete against a sibling or friend in the ēCO Savings Race Mini-Races.
