  2. Priority hubs • Northern Mindanao (Cagayan de Oro, Iligan, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental and Surigao del Norte) • Eastern Visayas (Samar, Leyte and Southern Leyte)

Initiatives pursued • Meeting with key government offices (PCARRD/PCAMRD, NFRDI, BFAR, BAR,PAMB, DENR) • Secured funding for initial consultation with stakeholders in priority hubs (Visayas and Mindanao) • Currently recruiting project staff to start work on secondary data collection and literature review

  4. Immediate plans • Increase in staff complement (natural resource management, economist, fisheries biologist); • Source funding for initial hub diagnosis • Secure firm commitment from potential partners in each hub
