  1. Wisdom To know TheDifference “Help me Lord to follow what is right and to abstain from what is wrong and grant me the wisdom to know the difference.” At times a conscientious Christian finds it somewhat difficult to find the difference. Phil. 1:10 “that you may approve the things that are excellent” “that you may distinguish between things that differ”

  2. Free Moral Agency “Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?” The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing (1 Kings 3:9-10). If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him (James 1:5). How much better to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver (Prov.16:16).

  3. Worry or Concern "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? (Matt. 6:25). "So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin (Matt. 6:28). "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble (Matt. 6:34). Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God (Phil. 4:6). And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things (Lk. 10:41).

  4. Conservative or Lacking Faith When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch” (Luke 5:4). So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost” (Jn. 6:12). So they all ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets full of the fragments that were left (Matt. 15:37).

  5. Conservative or Lacking Faith “For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it -- lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’ Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.” (Luke 14:28-33).

  6. Fanaticism or Faithfulness Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works (Titus 2:14). Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God (Rom. 10:1-3). So they cried aloud, and cut themselves, as was their custom, with knives and lances, until the blood gushed out on them. And when midday was past, they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice. But there was no voice; no one answered, no one paid attention (1 Kings 18:28-29).
