  2. What is the CAHSEE? • CAHSEE stands for: California High School Exit Exam. • The CAHSEE is an exam that tests whether you are competent in Reading, Writing, and Math skills.

  4. Basically, the CAHSEE has… • Approximately 72 multiple choice questions about reading and writing strategies • One essay response question

  5. WE ARE ON AN “ALL OUT” MISSION • All out means doing the most you can, with what you have, right where you are. • Our mission this unit is to go ALL OUT!

  6. What can you score in order to pass? PROFICIENT • You a have to score about a 70% to be marked “Proficient” on the test.

  7. IN ORDER TO PASS, YOU NEED A SCORE OF 350 BUT WE ARE AIMING FOR 380! Make it rain

  8. So…how are we going to prepare for the CAHSEE? CAHSEE Boot Camp We are in training. OH YEAH! “I work out” 380

  9. You will be part of a team EACH TEAM WILL HAVE A CAPTAIN AND A CO-CAPTAIN

  10. Your team will be given one of six team colors • As a group, you will work on your skills together. • Everything we do will be focused on your CAHSEE “fitness.” • Your training for CAHSEE is like Beyonce training for a concert or Kobe training for the World Championships! ALL OUT!

  11. WINNERS WILL RECEIVE PRIZES AND MOST IMPORTANTLY…AN “A” FOR THIRD QUARTER • In order to earn this prize, you will have to work together as a group.

  12. How do you earn points? • Promptness • Homework points • Quiz points • Game points • Participation Points • Raffle tickets

  13. More things to look forward to • Grammar songs • Bring It On Contest • Cubin it up • Mrs. Gentry’s singing • Team Spirit Days • Games • Hard work • Passing the CAHSEE!!!

  14. It will be hard work, but we might as well have a little fun too!
