Leben • Er war am Marz 1, 1810 im Warschau, Polen geboren. • Sein Vater war französisch und Sein Mutter war polnish. • Sehr frϋh im Leben hat er Musik gehӧrt. • Sein Mutter war ein Musiklehrer und sein Vater gespielt die Violine and die Flöte • Seinem ersten Beamte Musiklehrer war Wojciech Zywny • Auf sieben Jahre alt er war spielen Konzerte

Leben (cont.) • Er schriebt seinen ersten Polonaisen, als er 7 war • Als er war 11, er spielt für Zar Alexander I • Spielte er weinige Konzerte in Warschau bis 1831 • Lebte im Paris bis 1831 • Following the failed Polish revolution against Russia in 1831, he wrote the Revolutionary Étude in C-Minor out of pain and anger • Obviously, Chopin often poured his emotions into his music

Einflüsse • Sein Musiklehrer spielte Mozart und Bach für ihn • At his funeral, he requested Mozart’s Requiem be sung • Wojciech Zywny (his teacher) • Nicolas Chopin (father) • His mother ( Apparently, Chopin wept with emotion when his mother played the piano) • By age six, he was repeating what his mother would play and even making new melodies

Werke • Die meisten sind Solo Werke für die Klavier • Er war geschrieben 27 etüden, 27 Präludien, 21 Nocturnes, 20 Walzer, und 18 Polonaisen (solo piano pieces) • Nur zwei Klavier Concertos • He didn’t exactly yearn for public recognition, he preferred secluded salons and smaller public performances • He only played 30 public performances during the last 19 years of his life

Tod • Er starb im Jahre 1849 • Er hatte immer schlechte Gesundheit ein ganzes Leben • Interestingly, he requested that his heart be removed and preserved within a jar, it was sealed within a pillar of Holy Cross Church in Warsaw. It is under an epitaph with the inscription “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Matthew 6:21)
