  10. Finding Your Bliss! Academic Motivation Through Personal Passion Sophomore CJ Lembke is a nationally ranked barrel racer. In the classroom CJ has struggled in the past with motivation and academic performance in traditional educational models. This past year, CJ did a year long independent project incorporating her horses into her curriculum. Since, she has maintained nearly a 4.0 GPA. CJ gets up at 5am every morning feeds her horses and maintains a rigorous training regimen. When she was presented with the opportunity to bring her passion into the classroom she excelled. She made the connection in every class and this became her catalyst to academic success. Through barrel racing she was able to learn mathematics, science, literature, writing and countless life skills. She brought her horses to school and taught us about horse anatomy. At the end of the year – the class went to her stable and watched her shine. Every student had the opportunity to ride her horses and CJ is on her way to becoming a horse vet. ―Ramsey Brookhart GLOBALISTIC
