  3. “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.” I Corinthians 15:3-4 NIV

  4. The Importance of the Resurrection • The entire Christian religion is based on it • Our faith, our salvation, our hope. . . – 1 Corinthians 15:12-18 • The Resurrection is the motivation for all we do!

  5. The Importance of the Resurrection • If there is no Resurrection, then what? • Then we’re to be pitied more than all men – 1 Corinthians 15:19 • Then eat, drink and be merry . . . – 1 Corinthians 15:32 • Then it’s every man for himself– 2 Timothy 3:1-5

  6. The Integrity of the Resurrection • It was all foretold in Scripture – 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 • There are hundreds of Messianic Prophesies– Isaiah 7:14; 9:6-9; 53:1-12 • All of them are fulfilled in Jesus! – Luke 24:25-27; Acts 2:22-32

  7. The Integrity of the Resurrection • There were hundreds of eye witnesses – Acts 1:3 • These eyewitnesses were not naïve fools – Luke 24:9-11; John 20:24-28 • Jesus appeared to over 500 in one day! – 1 Corinthians 15:5-8

  8. The Implications of the Resurrection • It proved that Jesus is who He claimed to be • He was declared with power to be the Son of God by His Resurrection from the dead – Romans 1:4 • Belief in Jesus’ Deity is essential to Salvation! – John 8:24

  9. The Implications of the Resurrection • It demonstrated that there is life after death! • Jesus is the first fruits of all who die – 1 Corinthians 15:20-22; John 5:28-29 • He holds the keys to death and hades – Revelation 1:18-19

  10. The Implications of the Resurrection • It confirmed that everything Jesus taught is TRUE • Jesus is the WAY and the TRUTH and the LIFE – John 14:6 • He taught that all who Believe and are Baptized will be saved– John 3:16; Mark 16:15-16; Acts 2:36-41
