  2. History of the Mission • Map of The Mission FerminLasuen was the founder of San Fernando Rey de Espana. He founded the mission in September of 1797. FermanLasuen had also founded lots of other missions . This he was famous for. Mission San Fernando Rey de Espana is located near San Miguel arcangel and San Luis Rey de Francia. Unlike some other missions, San Fernando Rey de Espana was in Baja California.

  3. Daily Life There were many people who worked at the mission. Some of these people were, Padres and 782 Indians. The Padres taught the Indians how to grow and harvest. The Indians taught the Padres how to weave, hunt, and make soap. The Indians did most of the work and some wanted to rebel. Daily life was not easy those days.

  4. Special Features • Nickname of Mission: San Fernando Rey San Fernando Rey was a very popular place to stop for travelers because of its big dining room and kitchen. There was lots of chefs in the kitchen, but there was 5 times as many people in the dining room. There was also a chapel for song and prayer. San Fernando Rey also was a popular place to stop because of its wide open space and beautiful courtyard.

  5. Historic Highlights Mission San Fernando Rey had three historic highlights. It was one of the missions with the bi g gest dining room and kitchen. It was a very popular place for travelers to stop. It was also known for its wide, beautiful, and spacious courtyard. At one point, the mission owned over 121,500 acres of space for cattle to graze.

  6. Mission Today • Mission picture The mission today is still in good condition and is still being used. Travelers are still stopping at the mission today. But there are no more Indians left at San Fernando Rey de Espana. There are also many tourists That come, they say that the courtyard and main entrance are the most beautiful thing they have ever seen. That is what the mission is like today.
