  1. 7 TH Lesson 3.1 Day ONE SNOW week 7.NS.2d, 7.NS.2b, MP.3 Warm-up Activity: Order of Operations https://www.mathworksheetsland.com/topics/orders.html Hear: How to convert a RATIONAL NUMBER to a decimal. Observe:How this is done through MODELING. Review previous concepts . . . Fred shoots at a target. He hits the target 5 times but he misses the target 10 times. Write the ratio of HITS to misses. Convert the rational number to a decimal. Assign roles and have students repeat the activity above. Draw a target and place an X for a hit. Write a ratio for HITS on the bullseye to HITS not on the bullseye, then convert your ratio to a decimal. Practice: Assignment; Text pages 61/62 Explore: Next layer under the onion Describe a situation and Create an expression for the situation using the following numerical expression: X + 3 = 5. EXIT: Show sign of answer for 1) Product of two Whole Numbers 2) Product of a whole number and an integer.

  2. 7 TH Lesson 3.1 Day TWO SNOW WEEK 7.NS.2d, 7.NS.2b, MP.3 Warm-up Activity: Order of Operations https://www.mathworksheetsland.com/topics/orders.html Hear: How to convert a RATIONAL NUMBER to a decimal. Observe:How this is done through MODELING. Review previous concepts . . . Student walks 1 ¼ feet . . . Write 1 ¼ as a decimal. Now let pairs of students walk different lengths in MIXED numbers and then write that distance as a mixed number AND as a decimal. Repeat above activity and have two pairs of students ADD their lengths together and express the SUM in both a mixed number AND as a decimal. White board activity: Problems similar to text above. Practice: Classroom Assignment; Text pages 64/65 Explore: Next layer under the onion Describe a situation and Create a numerical expression using a whole number and an integer. EXIT: Show sign of answer for + ÷ +; - ÷ -; + ÷ -; - ÷ +; + ● +; - ● -; - ● +; + ● -

  3. 7 TH Lesson 3.1 Day THREE SNOW WEEK 7.NS.2d, 7.NS.2b, MP.3 Warm-up Activity: Order of Operations https://www.mathworksheetsland.com/topics/orders.html Hear: How to add RATIONAL NUMBER. Observe:How this is done through MODELING. Review previous concepts . . . REPEAT PREV ACTIVITY . . Fred shoots at a target. He hits the target 5 times but he misses the target 10 times. Write the ratio of HITS to misses. Convert the rational number to a decimal. Draw a target and place an X for a hit. Write a ratio for HITS on the bullseye to HITS not on the bullseye. Repeat three times and add the ratios together, then convert each ratio to a decimal. Practice: Assignment; Text pages 67/68 Explore: Next layer under the onion Describe a situation and Create an expression for that situation using two integers and a variable. Show sign of answer for 1) Product of two whole numbers; 2) Product of two integers;

  4. 7 TH Lesson 3.1 Day FOUR SNOW WEEK 7.NS.2d, 7.NS.2b, MP.3 Warm-up Activity: Order of Operations https://www.mathworksheetsland.com/topics/orders.html Hear: How to add RATIONAL NUMBER. Observe:How this is done through MODELING. Review previous concepts . . . REPEAT PREV ACTIVITY . . Fred shoots at a target. He hits the target 3 times but he misses the target 9 times. Write the ratio of HITS to misses. Convert the rational number to a decimal. Draw a target and place an X for a hit. Write a ratio for HITS on the bullseye to HITS not on the bullseye. Repeat three times and add the ratios together, then convert each ratio to a decimal. Practice: Assignment; Text pages 71/72 Explore: Next layer under the onion Describe a situation and Create an expression for that situation using two rational numbers and a variable. Show sign of answer for 1) Product of three whole numbers; 2) Quotient of two negative numbers;

  5. 7 TH Lesson 3.1 review/activity Day FIVE SNOW Week Text 73/74 7.NS.1d, 7.NS.1a, MP.2 Warm-up Activity: Order of Operations https://www.mathworksheetsland.com/topics/orders.html Hear: How to add RATIONAL NUMBERS. Observe:How this is done through MODELING. Review previous concepts . . . Bob walks for 2.5 miles and stops for lunch. Then he walks for 3.25 more miles, how many miles did he walk? Express the answer in both fractional and decimal form. Practice: Classroom Assignment; Text pages 67/68 Explore: Next layer under the onion Describe a situation and Create an expression for that situation . . . See modeling above. EXIT: Show sign of answer for 1) sum of two negative numbers; 2) Difference of two negative numbers;
