  2. WHAT IS COASTLINE PROMISE? Financial and academic support in the first year for recent high school graduates from service area high schools (Newport-Mesa, Huntington Beach, Garden Grove districts)

  3. WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE? • Graduates from Newport-Mesa, Huntington Beach, or Garden Grove districts during the most recent school year who: • Complete the Coastline Promise Application; • Complete the Coastline Community College online application for Fall 2019; • Complete the 2019-2020 FAFSA or California Dream Act to apply for Financial Aid; • Complete online orientation; and • Develop a Student Education Plan.

  4. WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM OFFER? • Covers all first year fall and spring semester unit fees, college service and health services fees; • Textbook vouchers up to $1,000 for the first year; • Priority Registration; • Free Tutoring; and • Dedicated Counseling, Academic Success Coaches, and Career Services

  5. WHAT ARE THE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS? • Enroll in a minimum of 9 units per semester; • Enroll in appropriate English and math courses; • Enroll in Counseling C105; • Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA; • Complete 20 hours of community service; • Adhere to Coastline Policies; • Participate in Promise Program activities; • Meet once a quarter with a counselor; and • Meet twice a semester with a success coach.

  6. WHO’S PARTICIPATED? • 2017-18 • 51 students in fall; 30 students in spring • 2018-19 • 74 students in fall

  7. FUTURE PLANS • Targeted outreach • Cohort activities and experiences • Follow-up post Promise Program participation
