  1. Creation Of Digital Topographic Maps Of Industrial Area Based On Aerial Survey Tatyana Dedova KAZGEOCOSMOS JSC Almaty, Kazakhstan 2013, Ury,France

  2. Our clients • KazMuniaGas National Company, JSC; • KazMunaiGas EP, JSC; • Intergas Central Asia, JSC; • KATCO, JV LLP (AREVA and KAZATOMPROM); • Kazakhmys, PLC • Maersk Oil Kazakhstan GmbH; • Land Management Agency of Republic of Kazakhstan; • Forest Management Enterprise; • Local administrations of cities and regions of RoK; • Other companies.

  3. Steps • Geodetic control network survey • Aerial survey • Photogrammetric processing • Field topographic reconnaissance • Digital mapping

  4. Geodetic control network survey • The following works usually are performed: • State Triangulation Network points are found and recognized in the field; • Ground Control points (GCP) and Check Points (CP) are installed and marked with crosses; • Geographical coordinates of both GCP and CP are measured using DGPS; • IIIth or IVth class leveling is performed for both GCPs and CPs implemented in the field.

  5. The network scheme

  6. Aerial survey

  7. Photogrammetric processing • Photogrammetric block creating • Rough orthomosaic creation for field • topographic reconnaissance • Aerial triangulation • DTM creation • Orthomosaic creation

  8. The break lines drawing

  9. Field topographic reconnaissance • The field objects interpretation and reconnaissance include: • information collection about infrastructure objects location and labeling, • making photo of industry infrastructure objects, • information collection about type of landscape, • sorting and preliminary processing of the collected material.

  10. Field topographic reconnaissance

  11. Field topographic reconnaissance

  12. Field topographic reconnaissance

  13. Field topographic reconnaissance

  14. Digital mapping • Design and adjustment of GeoDataBase

  15. The process of digital mapping

  16. Slope indicators location

  17. Quality check of digital map • The quality checking includes: • Checking the conformity, completeness and adequacy of digital data to initial raster orthophoto with all the errors recorded into a file of comments. • Checking the conformity of semantic data in attributive tables to the field reconnaissance data. • Loading together the map sheets on borders. Checking the conformity of the objects for southern and eastern part of the map sheets. • Checking for presence of objects with missing classification codes. • Checking inconsistency and typing errors in the attributive data. • Checking the correctness of geometric topology by standard topology fixing tools for revealing various irrational errors. • In the progress of quality checking all separate lines of the same character that were created in different sectors of the map by varying cartographers are merged into one object according to attribute domains code.
