  1. CALIFA beam time proposals for 2009 Pavel Golubev, Lund University R3B/EXL/ELISe Joint Collaboration meeting October 13-16, 2008, Gothenburg, Sweden and Calorimeter Working Group R3B (Gothenburg, Lund, Madrid, Orsay, Santiago) Pavel Golubev, Lund University, R3B/EXL/ELISe Joint Collaboration meeting October 13-16, 2008, Gothenburg, Sweden J.A. Briz, M. Carmona-Gallardo and Olof Tengblad

  2. Madrid: CMAM, Nuclear Physics Line. Gammas 0.11 - 6.129 MeV. 50 €/h. Proposal needed. Status: Meeting held. Scheduling 6 weeks earlier. Darmstadt: S-DANILAC, NEPTUN. Tagged photons and electorns. Eg <25 MeV Status: Pre-proposal accepted-March 09 suggested. Uppsala: TSL . Protons Ep =180 and 90 MeV. Status: Proposal accepted – May 09 suggested. Groningen: KVI. Protons 45 and 150 MeV. Status: No CWG activity foreseen. In-beam test measuements Pavel Golubev, Lund University, R3B/EXL/ELISe Joint Collaboration meeting October 13-16, 2008, Gothenburg, Sweden

  3. Gamma tests possibilities at NEPTUN@S-DALINAC (I) magnet 1 m coincidence focal plane radiator experiment photons electrons Photon energy: Eg = Ei - Ee Pavel Golubev, Lund University, R3B/EXL/ELISe Joint Collaboration meeting October 13-16, 2008, Gothenburg, Sweden

  4. Gamma tests possibilities at NEPTUN@S-DALINAC (II) • Photon beam: • Almost continues (3GHz, 10MHz), electron beam 1 mm in diam. • Energy range: 0 MeV < E < 28 MeV, higher energies are possible (recirculation possibility of the S-DALINAC) but no plans to do it now. • Energy resolution: E = 35-40 keV @ 10 MeV (FWHM) • Photon intensity: from nearly 0 up to 104 keV-1s-1 • Beam diameter: 240 mm • Beam halo: no sufficient halo noticed in measurements • Tagger: • Two scintillator planes, 128 channels • Scintillator fibre: 1 x 1 x 40 mm • Equipped with MultiHit TDC • Energy window: 3 MeV - design goal (with resolution 25keV); currently energy window: 250 keV • EDAQ: • VME, space left to integrate additional modules • Locally available: ADC: 32 ch., TDC: 32 (+32) ch., QDC: 16 ch • User friendly interface (ROOT) Pavel Golubev, Lund University, R3B/EXL/ELISe Joint Collaboration meeting October 13-16, 2008, Gothenburg, Sweden

  5. Gamma tests possibilities at NEPTUN@S-DALINAC (III) Recent data from test experiment Tagged photon production HPGe Detektor e- E Magnet DE SE PP Pavel Golubev, Lund University, R3B/EXL/ELISe Joint Collaboration meeting October 13-16, 2008, Gothenburg, Sweden

  6. Gamma tests possibilities at NEPTUN@S-DALINAC (IV) WG for Demonstrator tests at TUD @NEPTUN : Pavel Golubev, Deniz Savran, Olof Tengblad , Hector Alvarec, Jean Antoine Scarpaci, Nobert Pietralla, … • Demostrator irradiation time(due to Temp & HV cannot exceed 20 min.): • tagging efficiency 210-4 per one fiber @10 MeV • 30 abs. Photopeak efficiency for CsI • Total counting rate in CsI 1kHz • To get 100 events in the full energy peak: • T = 100(events) / (1000 Hz *0.3% * 210-4 ) =1700 sec. • Simulations are needed • 2. Changing photon energy: • Change electorn beam energy (1 min.) • Adjust tagged photon energy by changing the magnetic field of the tagger (used in in-beam tests with HPGe detector measurements. Pavel Golubev, Lund University, R3B/EXL/ELISe Joint Collaboration meeting October 13-16, 2008, Gothenburg, Sweden

  7. Gamma tests possibilities at NEPTUN@S-DALINAC (V) • 4. DAQ: readout of additional modules at NEPTUN • Temperature and HV sencors  write data on file • FADCs CAEN V1724: 8ch, 14 bit, 100 MS/secFADC M2J MATACQ32(CAEN V1729): 4ch, 12 bit, 2GS/sec, 300MHz bandwidhtFADC • 3. FP multiplicity • According to last mesurement @NEPTUN it is close to 1 Pavel Golubev, Lund University, R3B/EXL/ELISe Joint Collaboration meeting October 13-16, 2008, Gothenburg, Sweden

  8. Tests possibilities at TSL Name of facility: The Svedberg Laboratory, Uppsala, Sweden. Contact Person: Alexander Prokofiev: alexander.prokofiev@tsl.uu.se Usual dates of PAC meeting: Deadline for proposals, Jan. 15, Mar. 15, Jul. 15 and Oct. 15. Average time between proposal submission and experiment schedule: Scheduled period 3 – 9 months after proposal deadlines. Characteristics of proton beam: 180 MeV, 103s-1 uniformly over one cm2 (line B). <180 MeV beams need development. Difficulties in scheduling due to main activity in proton therapy at 180 MeV. DAQ support: No local DAQ available. Optical cable between experimental hall and counting room. Local support: Electronics pool, mechanical and electronics workshops. Others: LU (EXL/R3B) has performed one test in line B. Cost of beam time: 400€/h. 2/26/2008 To : Teknisk-Naturvetenskapliga fakulteten Uppsala universitet Dekanus, Prof. Jan-Otto Carlsson Box 256 SE-751 05 UPPSALA From: FAIR/NuSTAR R3B and EXL collaborations and FAIR/NuSTAR Calorimeter Working Group (CWG) Re: Beamtime for CWGat the TSL facility 2008-06-17 We are in pending state with possible beamtime in October/December 2008 or at Spring 2009. Now to be discussed within the Technical Boards (R3B, EXL?) Followed by a letter of support from SFAIR
