THE COUNTDOWN HAS BEGUN… Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work. - Stephen King When I was young, I observed that nine out of ten things I did were failures. So I did ten times more work. - George Bernard Shaw HARD WORK = SUCCESS Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do. - Pele There is no way around the hard work – EMBRACE IT! - Roger Federer

5. ‘The Ten Commandments are out of date for today’s society.’ (12 marks) Thirdly, someone might disagree with this statement because there are many situations where one might need to break the commandment, ‘do not steal’, for example, if they need to feed their starving family and have no money. On the other hand, stealing from shops will cause the shopkeepers to lose out on money. This will lead to them increasing their food prices to make up for the money they lost out on through the theft. This in turn will lead to more people not being able to feed their families. There are also alternatives to stealing, such as applying for loans or benefits. Thus, although it is very distressing for the one family contemplating stealing food to feed their family, there are other alternatives which involve everyone winning. Therefore, the Ten Commandments are not out of date in today’s society since they can encourage us to always find an alternative which benefit everyone. Reason Explanation Evaluation (which reason you just gave is the better reason and why)
Three Key Messages: Learn the knowledge around the Redemption and Church units using your revision mats. Learn reasons that can be applied to multiple questions by practising exam questions. Check your knowledge by marking these exam questions.
