  18. Observations – First Review Mission In GMS Barev, GMS Pathari Attri and GPS Kanya, Attri (Gaya District) the quality of rice served was below FAQ standards. The issue was taken up with FCI and DM of the Gaya District The number of children who availed MDM was more than the attendance. Many children of pre-primary wing classes avail MDM along with their elder siblings. In maximum schools visited the food grains are not being cooked on the actual number of children attending school. On an average the MDM served was found to be less than the prescribed number of days. The gap was quite wide in GMS Suryapura and GMS Itawa (Gaya) 18 Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India

Observations The expenditure of fund is quite low in both the districts Last six months records showed the supply of food grain was not regular at school level Double unit toilet was available in all schools but its maintenance was poor. Water facility was available in all schools except GPS Kanya, Attri Gaya and NPS Pali, Gaya Hand washing practice was not followed in 50% of schools -Cont. 19 Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India
