  31. ISSUES • Fund allocated for 321 kitchen cum store utilized for purchase of LPG connection in 4815 schools. • Mismatch between MI observations and State’s Claim regarding 100% coverage of Days. Interruption in districts found ranging from 1-2 weeks upto 6 months(Dholpur). • No SSMC Meeting during the last two years. • Delayed payment of honorarium to Cook-cum –Helpers & the rules for engagement for cooks have not been adhered to. • Issue of order to Naandi foundation for supply of meals for 40-50% of enrolled children (observed by GOI Team visit) Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India

Contd… • In case of the centralized kitchens the food often goes bad due to larger radius of coverage especially in the summers and there is no quality check by the NGO. • Non availability of kitchen sheds is higher in Pratapgarh district. • The percentage of children availing MDM is lowest in Jaisalmer district. • District wise situation reveals that quality of grains was found to be poorer in Dungarpur.

  36. Proposal for Cook-cum-helper engaged in MDM Scheme The State has requested to reduce the total number of cook cum helpers from 144413 to 121096 . Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India

  37. Proposal for Construction of Kitchen-cum-Store 321 kitchen cum-store funds utilized for Installing LPG connections, State wants GOI to reduce 321 units from 77298sanctioned units which is not permissible Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India
