  2. Topic Sentence At the beginning of the story, Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes, Sadako is a very excited and anxious little girl.

  3. Supporting Sentence #1 She went to the Peace Day celebrations and floated lanterns down the river to remember Oba chan.

  4. Supporting Sentence #2 Sadako was chosen from the bamboo class to be on the relay team.

  5. Supporting Sentence #3 She was getting dizzy spells and didn’t want to tell her parents because she was afraid she wouldn’t be able to race.

She went to the Peace Day celebrations and floated lanterns down the river to remember Oba chan. Sadako was chosen from the bamboo class to be on the relay team. She was getting dizzy spells and didn’t want to tell her parents because she was afraid she wouldn’t be able to race. Finally she had to tell about the dizzy spells.

Her friend, Chizuko brings her a golden crane and she meets Kenji. Kenji died from the disease. Sadako is sad and lonely.

  12. Paragraph #4 I chose to create the scene when Sadako was making the cranes in the hospital. I liked this scene because I thought is represented the title of the book the best. Also, I wanted to fold little tiny paper cranes and hang them from the ceiling of my diorama. This scene shows how brave Sadako is in the story.
