  2. Writing Genre… what is it? • You are used to talking about genre in the form of the books you read.. Mystery, adventure, poetry, legal documents, etc. • A multi-genre paper is a collection of writings from all sorts of genres centered on different aspects of a book (fiction or non-fiction) .

A myriad of genres to choose from… • Wills • Letters • Poems • Birth announcements • Dialogues • Newscasts • Questionnaires • Obituaries • Song lyrics • Tv commercials • Radio shows • Shopping lists • Speeches • Timelines • News releases • Medical records • Surveys • Resumes • Family trees • Dedications • Crossword puzzles

Requirements for this multi-genre • 7 (or more) Genres • Must have at least 2 poems and the cover letter. • Total word count of 1100 words. • Cover sheet/title page. • Presented in a nice folder. • Must cover various aspects of your book. • It must have a unifying theme. • Due March 28. • There will be periodic progress checks for daily grades. (YOU WILL HAVE WARNING)

  6. Helpful Hints • Finish the book as soon as possible. • Keep a pocket folder to “house” all your ideas, notes, rough drafts, and helps. • Take advantage of all work days/ writer’s conferences. • Use PATS for peer editing/ revise constantly. • Research writing genres not covered in class.
