MY BACKGROUND Over 37 years experience in the aviation industry in operations, regulatory and strategic management roles Formerly with the Qantas Group Roles included; 747 Fleet Manager l Head of Maintenance Control Centre l Head of Airline Operations Centre l Head Of Engineering Qantas Internationall

  3. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY 2018 was a tough year for Air Niugini. Softening revenue and poor performance on several routes contributed to a substantial loss. Coupled with the loss of a Dash-8 aircraft in Mendi due to civil unrest and the loss of a 737-800 in a landing incident in Chuuk, the business struggled to drive change. However, in the last quarter of 2018 we suspended several loss making routes and focused on diligent cost control in all areas. A K20M cost saving has already been delivered under the Higher Altitudes transformation program and we are forecasting a modest profit for 2019.

  4. PROJECTS & INITIATIVES • Organisational restructure • Management System review • Operational focus. On time performance • Customer engagement • Higher Altitudestransformation program • Cost control • Revenue enhancement • Developing our people • Operational and Customer excellence

  5. HIGHER ALTITUDES - PRINCIPLES

  6. OUTCOMES & ACHIEVEMENTS • Higher Altitudes has already delivered K20M in benefits, both cost savings and revenue. • Rationalisation of non profitable routes • Expanding codeshare agreements with key partners • Focus on East-West strategy and “hubbing” through Jackson’s International Airport • First customer aircraft inducted into the Air Niugini Engineering facility.

  7. Good to Great

  8. 2019 OUTLOOK • The outlook for Air Niugini Limited for 2019 is good. • Staff engagement is on the increase • Costs are coming down • Revenue is steady • Operational performance indicators are all trending in the right direction. • A review of the broader ANL strategy is currently underway to align with the PNG Government’s growth strategy The “Higher Altitudes” transformation program is underpinning all programs throughout the business and is expected to deliver a turnaround of circa K80M over the 2018 result.
