Being a leader in the field, he is passionate about enhancing patient quality of life. He embodies the values of communication, safety, and trust when dealing directly with patients. Overall, he is a true asset to the field and dedicated to the profession of medicine. Adding to his accomplishments, Dr Sacks has lectured nationally and internationally on pain management, and has served as an invited speaker at many CME and grand round presentations throughout the United States.   2. Institute of Santa Monica. He completed a fellowship in pain management at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. His research interests include neuropathic pain, psychosocial issues as they related to pain perception, and musculoskeletal, mechanical aspects of pain perception. Concerned about opioids and its side effects, Dr Gerald M Sacks feels that many primary care practitioners have now started recommending patients to utilize lifestyle changes. These changes include good hydration, good levels of physical activity, eating fruits and vegetables, and making sure that the patients are utilizing the over-the-counter medications when needed.
