  2. “There is one body and one Spirit--just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call– • one Lord, one faith, one baptism, • one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” Ephesians 4:4-6

  3. “For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, • and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, "This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me." • In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me." • For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.” - 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

  6. GOD WANTS US UNITED “Shall your brothers go to war while you yourselves sit here?” (Numbers 32:6)

  7. “And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. And one king shall be king over them all, and they shall be no longer two nations, and no longer divided into two kingdoms.”- Ezekiel 37:22

  8. “And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.” - John 10:16

  9. GOD WANTS US UNITED • Jesus prayed for unity – John 17:20-21 • Unity with God is through the blood of Jesus – Ephesians 2:13-18 • Unity is power & success – Romans 16:20

  10. SATAN WANTS DIVISON Unity must be on God’s terms. Genesis 11

  11. Among seven things God hates - Proverbs 6:19 is “one who spreads strife among brothers.”

  12. SATAN WANTS DIVISON “I am of Paul.” “I of Apollos.” “I of Cephas.” “I of Christ.” “Since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like mere men?” (1 Corinthians 3:3).

  13. HOW CAN WE HAVE UNITY? First, we need to recognize we are on the same side! “for we are brethren” – Genesis 13:7-8 Proverbs 10:12 Proverbs 13:10 Galatians 5:15

  14. HOW CAN WE HAVE UNITY? Second, we need a strong commitment to God’s pattern for unity. Proverbs 23:23 1 Corinthians 3:11 John 8:32 Ephesians 4:15

  15. HOW CAN WE HAVE UNITY? Third, we need a healthy dose of humility & selflessness. 1 Corinthians 8:13 Ephesians 4:1-3 First – Truth Second- Unity Third - Liberty

  16. Paris church of Christ Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. - Ephesians 5:1-2
