HRTC Activities as of 01/01/2012 Recent Conference Performance Accomplishments • Dr. Ken Kuo received 2011 Wyld Award! • Conducted very successful Hybrid Design Short Course at 2011 JPC • Organized 11 Sessions with 34 papers at 2011 JPC • Submitted Aerospace America Year-End Article • Published “Fundamentals of Hybrid Rocket Combustion and Propulsion” in 2007 • Selected Best Paper and Best Student Paper awards from 2011 JPC • Hybrid related e-mail updates provided to HRTC members JPC 2011 Abstracts Received: 42 Abstracts Accepted: 41 Sessions: 11 Withdrawals/No-Shows: 7 Issues / Help Needed • HRTC website needs improvement • Need to adopt AIAA standard format Initiatives & Plans Financial Status and Other Activities • Evaluate Hybrid Design short course and determine when to offer it next • Encourage papers that address cost / benefit comparisons between hybrid and liquid/solid propulsion • Encourage liaisons with other AIAA TC’s • Organize a successful 2012 JPC • Better define membership roster • Currently $5,994.57 in HRTC account
