Brigade Training Objectives • Conduct the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP) in order to plan and execute comprehensive and decisive operations in support of the Brigade Commander’s intent • Conduct command post operations in order to maintain command and control at all echelons • Conduct a BDE defense in order to secure key terrain, population, and resources against a Hybrid Threat in order to set conditions for the transition to offensive operations . • Integrate synchronizing ISR • Integrate BDE level firesand attack / assault aviation to defend in depth. • Employ deep strike capabilities/assets to disrupt the enemy in depth along their avenues of approach before reaching the BDE’s main defensive belt. • Conduct a BDE attack, integrating and synchronizing ISR, BDE level fires, attack and assault aviation, combined with mechanized forces against a Hybrid Threat in order to seize and retain key terrain, population, and/or infrastructure. • Conduct an Air Assault centered around one Infantry Battalion Task Force in order to seize and retain key terrain and/or resources until proper battle hand over to follow-on forces • Conduct Cyber defense operations in order to protect BDE network infrastructure and maintain command and control capability

  7. MND SENTINEL MISSION MND SENTINEL defends in sector NLT 170900 JUNE 2012 in order to defeat SOUTHLANDforces and maintain or restore the IBL. Be prepared to attack in zone to restore the IBL.

  8. MND SENTINEL Commander’s Intent To rapidly mass combat power in Southern VIRONIA to prevent SOUTHLAND forces from penetrating PL RED and establishing an independent SIMM-dominated state. Defend only as long as is necessary to regain the initiative and then rapidly transition into offensive operations to restore the IBL. Use CAS, Army Aviation, and Fires to attrit the enemy within VIRONIA and to set the conditions for a rapid counterattack. Leverage non-lethal fires to maintain information dominance and to force the enemy’s withdrawal to his homeland. Integrate VIRONIAN security forces throughout and quickly transfer control and security operations back to them once the IBL is restored and hostilities have ended. Endstate: SOUTHLAND forces within VIRONIA are defeated, the IBL is restored, and local control is returned to VIRONIAN security forces.

MNB-V • Phase I • MNB-V (SE) task organizes for combat operations. • MNB-V rapidly leaves AA SENTINEL NET 152100JUN12 to move into sector. • MNB-V occupies hasty defensevic PL RED NLT 160900JUN12. • Phase II • 160900JUN12 MNB-V transitions to MND ME and establishes hasty defensevic PL RED to prevent penetration by more than a PLT size force. Improve defensive positions as time allows. Defend NLT 170900JUN12.

MNB-V • Phase III • On order, MNB-V (ME) conducts a counter-attack to regain the initiative and to defeat SOUTHLAND forces in the AO. • MNB-V be prepared to conduct Air Assault operations to secure key LOCs and to facilitate a rapid counterattack, preventing SOUTHLAND forces from establishing a cohesive defense inside VIRONIA. • Phase IV • On order, MNB-V (ME) transitions to conduct Stability Operations, restoring the IBL and integrating national VIRONIAN forces and agencies.
