  2. Definition of Gifts: (V 1 – 3). • “Special endowments of Supernatural energy”. • Everyone operating in the Christian gifts of the Spirit will acknowledge & exalt Jesus Christ as Lord.

  3. Different but the same: (V 4 – 6). • The gifts are bestowed freely by God.V4. • The gifts are to be used in a Christ-like attitude of servant hood. V5. • They are the result of God working powerfully in our lives.V6

  4. Grouping of Gifts: (V 7 – 10). • REVELATION GIFTS:Wisdom, Knowledge & Discernment. • POWER GIFTS: Faith, healing & miracles. • The INSPIRATIONAL GIFTS: Tongues, Interpretation of tongues & Prophecy.

  5. Distributed at HIS Will: (V 11). • ALL gifts are available to ALL Christians. • They are NOT limited to use inside a church service. • “We are here to make God known to everyone we come into contact with. That is our primary task…..we need to rid ourselves of the idea that gifts are only to be used in church, they are to be used wherever we go”. Wendell Parr

  6. The Analogy of the body: (V 12 – 31). • These verses paint a beautiful and effective picture of how church should work when all the members are using their gifts to their full potential. • ‘an extended metaphor of the church as the body of Christ’ • Craig Blomberg. • These verses teach UNITY in DIVERSITY.

  7. Gifts & Fruit. • 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. • Galatians 5: 22 - 25

  8. Conclusion. • This is a practical series. • We want to be seeking God together for your gifting’s, and see you built up to maturity in them. • We want to pray for you to be filled with the Holy Spirit and step out in using your gifts, not just in the church, but in your local community.
