  3. Introduction • The overall goal of the project was to make a working Rube Goldberg that could be triggered by another team and trigger the next team • The parts of our device were found in the Estabrook workshop and at Wal-Mart • The overall estimated cost of the project was ≈$20

  4. Team Gr8 Project Overview • The first step of the device was to trigger a small mousetrap to pull a string and make marbles go down a pvc track. • The next step was for the marbles to hit domino’s, striking a toy car and dropping it. • The toy car acts as a counterweight and triggers a track that makes another car go. • The car goes around a track and launches through a funnel and onto a teeter totter. • The teeter totter drops and triggers an ipod and the next project.

  5. The “Goldberg”

  6. Physics Principles Used in the device • Torque-mousetrap • Collision-dominos • Gravitational Potential Energy-car dropping • Trajectory-car launching • Conservation of Energy-car dropping on teeter totter

  7. Conclusion • The project took close to 10 hours time to complete and was worked on by all team members as often as possible • Problems -trying to get the dominos to start a car -team moral ran rather low(food fixed this problem) -placement of the mousetrap -launch/land position of the car Through sheer ingenuity we battled through all problems and stuck together as a team.
