  1. Myths & Legends Negotiated Makeup project

  2. Bill Turpin • 15 years a prosthetic makeup artist, specializing in life casting and model making services for film, TV , and photography • Inspiration to my work as he uses prosthetics with beauty! He makes his images appear nice! • He uses humans and adds prosthetics to make them weird – creature like.

  3. MASKS • I found this picture in ‘a complete guide to special effect makeup’ It really inspired • for this project. • It made me look further into makeups like this, and it sent me in a few directions • MASKS --- BIRDS -- CREATURES • I began to think how I could combine these all together? • FOLKLORES? I then wanted to create a unique creature based upon a myth or tale from the past!

  4. What is a myth? a traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a people or explaining a natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events widely held but false belief or idea of an exaggerated or idealized conception of a person or thing. What is a folklore? • Astory originating in popular culture, typically passed on by word of mouth which is considered to be false or based on superstition.
