U.S. Beef and Pork Exports to Russia: Current Trends and Market Challenges

In a recent market update, U.S. Meat Export Federation directors John Brook and Yuri Barutkin discussed U.S. beef and pork exports to Russia. Despite a 40% overall decline in beef imports, U.S. beef imports rose slightly, reflecting strong market reputation. Adaptation strategies include targeting large cities, exploring low-cost sales channels, and addressing access issues with Russian officials. However, rising domestic production and shifting consumer preferences toward poultry and pork are impacting the landscape. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for future market access and export strategies.
