  3. The classic video poker “Jacks or Better” is played over a momentous situation of a titan robot against the Martian Astro-men.

  4. The classic video poker “Jacks or Better” is played over a momentous situation of a titan robot against the Martian Astro-men. Borrowing from the retro collectible tin toy construction of the mid-1950’s, a tin Robot called “Jack” is thrown into a fantastic out-of-this world journey. The story telling and messaging would be styled like classic Sci-Fi pulp magazine covers. The look of the game would capture the delivery of early color television and film stock emulsion.

  6. This overly-sensationalized world is at the core of our game visual and audio experience for Video Poker. The user is absorbed in the nostalgic 1950’s posterized science-fiction story embodied in the movies and tin toys most of us grew up loving.

  8. As the user becomes skillful at our Video Poker they will determine the outcome of this epic confrontation. Winning multiple hands in a row could re-enforce Jack’s attacks allowing him the possibility of overcoming the Martians and end with him beating the bad guys, or….the Martians would win the final battle, ending Jack’s heroic desire to become the mechanical savior of his kind. This would offer two separate endings which could unfold slowly over multiple hands. Our Robot is the good-doer living happily in his 2-pass Technicolor mechanical world…

  10. While out on a peaceful walk, Jack is suddenly struck over the head. A common winder that he immediately recognizes falls to the ground. He then slowly looks up and sees a colorless world where all his friends are stopped, motionless, deprived of their winders.* They have been deactivated….. Jack shoots into space using his mighty thrusters to chase after the enemy craft, landing on their monochromatic world. He is now Determined to make wrong…right, and return the precious winders back to his home world. *The invaders need the winders to activate their Now for some visuals

  12. OTHER DETAILS: The cards would be reminiscent of the 1950’ styling, but easily recognizable as playing cards. Jack would have a glowing chest button/switch that once clicked by the user would light-project the “Pay table” overlay onto the screen for a short time, momentarily fading the action below. Exciting action text bubbles would also wipe reveal to announce any game scenarios, e.g. “THREE OF A KIND!!!”,  “ TAKE COVER!!”, supporting the pulp magazine narration. This delivery was wildly used on Batman’s early TV series. This visualization would be supported on the winning cards as an intense energy swirl coming from the right and zapping the other cards away to dust. (a weapon Jack possesses in his impressive colorful arsenal.)

  14. WEAPON AUGMENTATION AND DELIVERY: The game would start with our hero positioned in the upper right corner of the screen and the Martians on the left (establishing shot) segueing to a final close-up central collision/moment, on one side the Martians and their ULTIMATE WEAPON, on the other…Jack. The weapons used would range from long distance to short range, including misses possibly broadcasted in a Martian like voice “OH NO!” or Cheers!!! (helium?) Jack’s weapons create color additions that reverse the visual monotone treatment of the Martians…annihilating them - the Martian colony’s weapons are desaturating our friend and removing his parts. Jacks has an arsenal of impressive weapons. -Zapping eye lasers able to melt Martian faces. -Decimator missile emanating from his shoulders. -Squashes down with his foot producing shockwaves of jelly acid. And much, much, much more.

  16. (continue) WEAPON AUGMENTATION AND DELIVERY: These weapon types would appear randomly and driven by A.I.  The more exotic ones would only activate on rare hands for maximum destruction. Martians : concentric ring phasers, flying saucer lasers, rockets armed with a freeze ray. Nuke blast. And much, much, much more. -All colorless Audio: Crackly Alarmist radio announcers…LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! I CAN’T BELIEVE MY EYES! Retro spooky music and Sounds FX (Heavy toms, Sirens, phaser guns, etc… ). Robot (Jack’s) speech: DESTROY!! SURRENDER! Martians: TAKE’EM DOWN, GIVE’EM ALL YOU GOT, LET’EM HAVE IT! BTW all these could be seen at random times and be unlockablefrom high winning hands. Graphics flavors: Font work, speech bubble inking technique of 1950’s Mixed bag of futuraand weird science Dot matrix printing and classical motions. Homage of early black &white films, lighting and color treatments .

  20. AUDIENCE. The gaming audience from the “Q1 Brand Tracker” indicates a strong “affinity” for Zynga Poker with 18-34 year old males and Dads with a minor pull on moms as well. I believe women connect to a good story first and foremost, loving a good-doer thrown into fantastic situations. Women love Robots - let’s see if we can widen our audience to capture this missing demographic. Everyone loves tin robot and do-good robots - Jonny5, Wally, Iron Giant, etc.. are all well accepted. Mostly they are referred to by name to anthropomorphize them or called THE MACHINE / BEAST by antagonist to evoke compassion from the viewer.

  22. SCALABILITY AND TECH. Each video poker mode would have its own skin and intro storyline. Using similar layouts and overall delivery system for each game, we could explore other wildly popular themes: -The Mysterious Masked Cowboy vs. Bandits saving the girl from the train track -Archaeologists vs. Mummies -Knights and Princess vs. Dragons -Dinosaurs vs. the Time Traveler Etc… Not like Elite Slots: The user can use multipliers, healing potions and rare items like “Table Gifts” or “trade a card”, etc. when these items are moving about the screen delivered on specific occasions from the top action window. Possibly the capacity to influence the actions, target-click attacks, temporary weapon selection, etc.. Long term possibility: Create a brand, becoming a franchised license with characters as physical toy construction appeal? Highly polished it would be a great game/mode on its own. Unlock a mode to view the game in retro 3d with glasses.
