  2. This will help with tonight’s homework • What angles are corresponding? 1 & 5; 2 & 6; 3 & 7; 4 & 8 • What angles are equal? 1=4=5=8 2=3=6=7 • What angles are supplementary? 1&2; 1&3; 1&6; 1&7 2&4; 2&5; 2&8; more! • What angles are complementary? NONE

  3. If angle 2 = 50°, write an equation to find the measure of angle 4: 180 – 50 = 130 What if the measure of angle 2 was “x” degrees? What would be the expression to find the missing measure of angle 4? 180 - x

  4. Complementary angles… • If < A is 36°, find the measure of < B • 44° • If < a is y°, what is the measure of < B? • 90 - y

  5. Make sure your notebook assignment sheet looks like this: #. Date Brief Description 1. 10-3 S&S Problem 2.1 day 1/ ACE 1 a-f • 10-4 S&S Problem 2.1 day 2/ ACE 14-15 • 10-5 S&S Problem 2.2 ACE 3, 16, 17, 18 • 10-6 S&S Problem 2.3 ACE 5,6, 19-28 • 10-11 S&S Problem 3.1, ACE 1-3, 22-25

  6. Vocabulary • Rep-tile: • a figure you can use to make a larger, similar version of the original • Supplementary angles: • 2 angles that form a straight line; they add up to 180º • Complementary angles: • 2 angles that form a right angle; they add up to 90º

  7. Launch… is it a rep-tile? Why? No, you can’t make a larger regular hexagon from smaller regular hexagons Yes, you can make a larger square from smaller squares

  8. Problem 3.1 page 38 • Let’s read page 38… • Can you think of an example of a “rep-tile” in this school? Your home? Other?

  9. 3.1: Rep-Tile Quadrilaterals…p.39 • You will be using the pattern blocks today… share and use appropriately! • You will be using the blocks to help you make your “sketches” for A, B, and C on your lab sheet • Work with a partner to answer the questions on p. 39 together using your tiles as tools • Begin your homework when you are completed!

  10. Make sure your notebook assignment sheet looks like this: #. Date Brief Description 1. 10-3 S&S Problem 2.1 day 1/ ACE 1 a-f • 10-4 S&S Problem 2.1 day 2/ ACE 14-15 • 10-5 S&S Problem 2.2 ACE 3, 16, 17, 18 • 10-6 S&S Problem 2.3 ACE 5,6, 19-28 • 10-11 S&S Problem 3.1, ACE 1-3, 22-25
