  2. Description • Agricultural machinery and equipment repairman is the person who identifies and repairs defects and malfunctions of agricultural machinery and tools such as planting, mowing, watering and spraying vehicles.

  3. Duties • Reads the schema of the machine, • Identifies the defected parts • If it is necessary, he changes needed parts. • Repairs the defected part • He makes necessary settings and trials of new or repaired machines.

  4. Tools and Materials used • Sheet metal working tools and machines, • Hot Forging furnace, equipment and tools, • Turning, milling, and planning machine trolley, point welder, • Various measuring tools (tape measure, steel ruler, vernier calipers, micrometers), • Marking tools (plates, V-bed, mihengi, steel-tipped bows, dots, hammers, etc..), • Welding machines, • Various hand tools, • Technical drawing tools and materials (picture tables, T-rulers, compass, protractor, drawing pencil, and eraser and so on)

  5. Features required by the profession • General ability at normal standards, • Be able to see the Figure & Space relationships, • To have the ability to use eyes, feet and hands skilfully, • Be strong enough physically, • Need to be careful and be patient.

  6. Working Environment and Conditions • Agricultural equipment and machinery maintenance and repairmen work in factories and workshops. Working environment is noisy. If he is working on a repair job in the workshop, he works independently and is focused on tools primarily. If he works at a factory, he has to cooperate with other employees.

  9. Entry requirements for vocational education • In order to start the apprenticeship training; • To be at least a primary school graduate, • Be over 14 years of age, • To find an employer and sign a contract of apprenticeship with the employer.
