  3. Fun facts about Da Vinci • He was left-handed and dyslexic • All his life he would make spelling mistakes because he didn’t have a proper education • He was vegetarian • Leonardo enjoyed purchasing caged birds so that he could set them free

How did he get famous? • Da Vinci became famous because he was an apprentice to Andrea del Verrocchio, who was the best painter and sculptor of his time. • Since people knew Verrocchio, they began to know Leonardo. • At first, Da Vinci helped Verrocchio with some of his paintings • He then became an independent master • He made his first scientific drawing not so long after he became a master
